On this page you will learn:

When creating your template, if you set the question type to be Select or Multi-select, the user will choose their answer from a drop-down menu when completing the survey

Source controls what the drop-down menu will contain. The list can be 1) a list of custom items 2) connected to an existing list of features like contacts, points, or polygons or 3) pull from one of your other templates. Here is an example of each:

1) Custom - you create the option list in the template

  • Upload allows you to import your option list from a spreadsheet

  • Export allows you to export your option list as a CSV or Excel file

2) Existing list - dropdown will populate from the chosen list

3) Template (aka embedded surveys) - dropdown is the data from another template's survey responses

COPY AND PASTE CUSTOM OPTION LISTS

  • You can copy a custom option list and paste it within another question's custom option list within the same template or a completely different one

STEPS

1) Add a select or multi-select question with the source set to Custom

2) Add options

3) Click Copy

4) Add new question with same set up: type = select or multi-select and source = custom

5) Click "Paste Options" to paste the option list copied from previous question
