There are a few different ways to get the features into NRDS depending on the senario that you find your self in

Producer Site - Farm or tract

Producer Plots - Field

Option 1. Draw on the map

  1. Navigate to CUSTOM MAPS on the sidebar

  2. Select the name of the producer farm that you want to draw the site/ plot for. The maps should be pre set to get you pretty close

  3. Navigate closer using the address locator, coordinates or just zoom in

  4. You can switch backgrounds using the layer switcher to switch imagery or turn off layers on the map

  5. Once you are ready to draw click the Draw button

  6. Select Producer Sites or Producer Plots

  7. Single click at each corner around the site you want to map

  8. Double click to stop drawing

  9. Once you double click a window will popup on the right side

  10. Fill in Site Name and Select Producer Name and fill in any other info you need

  11. Click Save

  12. Click Stop Drawing

  13. You could now start drawing Producer Plots using the same method

Option 2. Import from a shapefile or KML

Importing from an existing file is a bit more tricky and there are a few ways to do it depending on what you have and where you got it.

The easiest way is to import into "Polygons" and then copy the geometry into a new site.

If your file has all the required fields you could import directly into the Sites survey

  1. Acquire a KML file or a zipped up shapefile (shapefiles must be zipped up)

  2. Have a clear idea of the area you are working with

  3. Select Polygon from the list

  4. Drag and drop your polygon or navigate to the file and get it into the drop zone you should see it on the map

  5. Click Save

  6. It gets saved to Polygons - this is a general place to put polygons before they can get categorized into other features

  7. Now you need to copy the geometry (coordinates) from the generic polygon to to a new site or plot

  8. Open the Surveys -> Sites

  9. Create a New Site

  10. Fill out the Site information

  11. Scroll down to the geometry question

  12. Select copy from polygon

  13. Select your polygon from the list and it will copy the geometry

Option 3. Add geometry from mapping in the field

This is pretty much the same as adding from KML import except your polygon will have come from the mobile app

  1. Your polygon gets saved to Polygons - this is a general place to put polygons before they can get categorized into other features

  2. Now you need to copy the geometry (coordinates) from the generic polygon to to a new site or plot

  3. Open the Surveys -> Sites

  4. Create a New Site

  5. Fill out the Site information

  6. Scroll down to the geometry question

  7. Select copy from polygon

  8. Select your polygon from the list and it will copy the geometry

  9. Click Save

Edit and existing site or plot from the map

  1. From the map click on your site

2. Click the edit button and a window will pop up

Edit an existing site or plot from the list of sites

  1. On the sidebar click Surveys-> Sites

  2. Select your plot and click the edit button
