How to Change the Coordinate System in the NRDS 2 Mobile App
1. Open the coordinate settings 0:10
Go to Settings in the NRDS 2 mobile app.
Find the Coordinate setting.
This is where you choose which coordinate system the app will display and use.
2. Choose your preferred coordinate system 0:19
The default coordinate system is decimal degrees.
You can switch to other formats, such as:
UTM
Degrees-minutes-seconds
Select the format that matches your workflow or local standard.
3. View existing points in the selected format 0:35
After changing the setting, open a point and view its coordinates.
The app will display the point in the coordinate system you selected.
Example:
Decimal degrees when that option is selected
UTM when UTM is selected
4. Create new points using the selected coordinate system 0:48
When creating a new point, the app records and displays the coordinates in the active coordinate system.
If you use Current Location, the coordinates will be shown in the format you selected.
Save the point once you confirm the coordinates.
5. Switch formats anytime and the app converts automatically 1:06
You can change the coordinate system again at any time.
The app automatically converts the same point into the newly selected format.
Example:
Switch from UTM to degrees-minutes-seconds
The coordinates update immediately in that format
6. Use whichever coordinate system fits your needs 1:23
The NRDS 2 mobile app supports multiple coordinate system options.
This gives you flexibility to work in the format that best matches your project or location.
The setting affects both viewing and creating points.
