1. Go to your current location 0:10
Open the NRDS version 2 mobile app.
Tap the dot on the left to jump to your current location.
This works even if you are starting somewhere else on the map.
2. View your current altitude and accuracy 0:22
Tap the locator arrow.
The app will display:
Accuracy
Altitude / elevation of your current location
This is the quickest way to check how high you are at your current position.
3. Change the altitude source in Settings 0:32
If the altitude looks incorrect, open Menu.
Go to Settings.
Scroll to Altitude Source.
Choose the source you want the app to use for elevation data.
4. Choose GPS or barometer as the source 0:44
You can set altitude to use GPS.
If your device has a barometer, you can set altitude to use the barometer instead.
The source you choose may affect the altitude value you see.
5. Calibrate the barometer if needed 0:56
If your device supports a barometer, you can calibrate it using GPS.
The app can use GPS satellites to help correct the barometer reading.
This helps improve altitude accuracy.
6. Calibrate using a known elevation 1:06
You can also calibrate altitude using a known elevation.
Enter the known altitude value, such as 1450.
Tap Calibrate.
The app will then base altitude readings on that known value.
7. Record altitude when creating a point 1:36
When you create any point, the app records:
Altitude / elevation
Accuracy
This information is saved both to the device and to the point itself.
