  • Tap the locator arrow.

  • The app will display:

    • Accuracy

    • Altitude / elevation of your current location

  • This is the quickest way to check how high you are at your current position.

3. Change the altitude source in Settings 0:32

  • If the altitude looks incorrect, open Menu.

  • Go to Settings.

  • Scroll to Altitude Source.

  • Choose the source you want the app to use for elevation data.

4. Choose GPS or barometer as the source 0:44

  • You can set altitude to use GPS.

  • If your device has a barometer, you can set altitude to use the barometer instead.

  • The source you choose may affect the altitude value you see.

5. Calibrate the barometer if needed 0:56

  • If your device supports a barometer, you can calibrate it using GPS.

  • The app can use GPS satellites to help correct the barometer reading.

  • This helps improve altitude accuracy.

6. Calibrate using a known elevation 1:06

  • You can also calibrate altitude using a known elevation.

  • Enter the known altitude value, such as 1450.

  • Tap Calibrate.

  • The app will then base altitude readings on that known value.

7. Record altitude when creating a point 1:36

  • When you create any point, the app records:

    • Altitude / elevation

    • Accuracy

  • This information is saved both to the device and to the point itself.
