Key Steps
1. Open the survey template editor and choose the template to edit 0:16
Navigate to the Template Editor.
Open the existing survey template you want to modify (example used: signup).
Confirm you are editing the correct template before making changes.
2. Add a new survey question and set the question type to Video 0:34
Select Add a question.
Enter the question text, such as "Load up a video of your choice".
Set the question type to Video.
Review the question settings to ensure the video upload option is enabled.
3. Save the template changes 0:50
Click Save to store the updated template.
Confirm the new video question appears in the template after saving.
If needed, repeat the process to add additional video questions.
4. Open the survey and test the new video question 1:06
Launch the survey from the template you updated.
Verify the new question appears as a video upload field.
If the survey is public-facing, confirm the same video question is available to respondents.
5. Upload a video file from the available sources 1:14
Click the video upload field.
Choose an existing video or browse to a file from your downloads or file system.
Select a suitable test video file.
Be aware that large or long videos may take longer to upload.
6. Wait for the video to upload and process 1:38
Allow the upload to complete fully.
Expect a processing delay after upload; this may take a minute or more.
Do not assume the upload failed if the video appears to be loading slowly.
If necessary, wait and refresh the view after processing completes.
7. Save the survey response and confirm the uploaded video is attached 2:04
Click Save after the upload finishes.
Verify the uploaded video appears in the response record.
Confirm the video can be played from the saved entry.
8. Review the uploaded video in list and detail views 2:15
Return to the list view and confirm the new record appears.
Open the detail view to verify the video is accessible there as well.
Test playback from both views to ensure the upload was successful.
If the video is still processing, check back later and retest.
Cautionary Notes
Video uploads may take time to process after saving; this is normal.
Large or long videos may be subject to size or length limits.
A video may appear unavailable immediately after upload even though it is still processing in the background.
Ensure the correct template is edited before saving changes to avoid modifying the wrong survey.
Tips for Efficiency
Use a short test video when validating the feature to reduce upload and processing time.
If you need to verify functionality quickly, test with a video that has already been processed successfully.
Keep the browser open until the upload and processing are complete.
Reuse an existing template as a starting point when adding similar question types.
